As a proud UK based company we like to celebrate our heritage. Harrison’s have been operating in County Durham, in North East England for over 50 years so it is only fitting that we fly the County Durham flag in the month of March to commemorate County Durham Day.
About County Durham
The Durham County area is home to over 522,000 residents and covers an area of 223,260 hectares (2230 square kilometres/862 square miles) with 21 settlements with an estimated population of over 5,000 people including Durham City, Chester-le-Street, Newton Aycliffe, Consett and Peterlee.
About Country Durham Day
County Durham Day is celebrated on 20th March and helps mark the ceremonial county’s proud heritage of farming, mining and key role in the railway industry.
About the County Durham flag
The Durham County flag was created by James Moffat and his twin daughters Katie and Holly in 2013 as part of a design competition. Durham was the last county in northern England without a flag. The design incorporates the county’s historic colours.
Our County Durham flag is printed inhouse, in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham on Enviroflag™ material. The revolutionary material is made from recycled plastic bottles.
