The process begins by transforming this waste plastic into yarn, which is then knitted into the Harrison Eco™ material. The result? A fabric with the same durability, strength and versatility as standard knitted polyester, but with a dramatically reduced environmental footprint.

Our flagpole recycling service

As a proud British manufacturer, all our glassfibre flagpoles are produced at our premises in County Durham. To further reduce waste, we’ve launched the UK’s first flagpole recycling service.

• All glassfibre waste from manufacturing is recycled
• Landfill waste is kept to an absolute minimum
• Over one tonne of glassfibre waste recycled every month

It’s another way we’re ensuring sustainability is built into every stage of production.

Fabric upcycling scheme: Giving flags a second life

Every year, approximately 850,000 tonnes of textiles end up in landfill. We’re determined to change that.

Harrisons is proud to be the first UK supplier to offer a Fabric Upcycling Scheme, with the goal that 100% of the fabric we print is recycled or upcycled.

How it works:

• Return your used flags to us
• We transform them into new, useful products

These include:

• Shopping bags, sports bags and tote bags – perfect for giveaways
• Dog toys, donated to our local dog re-homing charity FLOOF
