Design and manufacture bespoke glassfibre flagpole

The Bargate Gatehouse is found in the city centre of Southampton. We were asked to design and manufacture a bespoke glassfibre flagpole to sit on the roof of the Gatehouse.

We manufactured an 8m extra heavy-duty glassfibre flagpoles with a white gel coat finish for our client. The pole came complete with a galvanised steel insert, fixing bolt, an external halyard and cleat, a rotating fairlead, saddle and gold onion finial.

The challenge with this project was not just in designing a bespoke flagpole to suit the requirements of our client. It was also challenging to lift the flagpole onto the roof of the Bargate Gatehouse.

The glassfibre flagpole was manufactured in our County Durham facility. Our technicians also manufactured a custom baseplate. The flagpole was lifted into a wall-mounted bracket on the roof of the Bargate Gatehouse using scaffolding.
