This month’s flag is the Union. As the only UK manufacturer of glassfibre flagpoles we are very proud to fly the national flag of the United Kingdom.
Known as the Union or the Union Jack flag the well-known design dates from the union of Ireland and Great Britain in 1801.
The design represents some of the countries that make up the UK; the red cross of the Saint George (patron saint of England), edged in white, superimposed on the Cross of St Patrick (patron saint of Ireland), which are superimposed on the Saltire of Saint Andrew (patron saint of Scotland). Wales is not represented by their patron saint, Saint David as at the time Wales was part of England.

According to The Culture Trip, there is no real code of conduct surrounding the Union flag Unlike other countries, there is no real code of conduct surrounding the Union Flag. This means that the flag can be reproduced in its original form on merchandise, memorabilia and printed materials, unlike the USA flag which has an entire code dedicated to it.
Our Union is digitally printed on Enviroflag™, our flag material made from recycled plastic. Making it an environmentally friendly alternative to knitted polyester for flags and feather flags. You can learn more here.

New boy Ben had the honour of raising our flag this month. Ben is the newest addition to our warehouse team. He prepares and packs the poles for delivery. This involves drilling the doors for poles with internal roping systems, installing the halyards and wrapping the poles ready for delivery to our customers.
