For any business employee retention is important. Not only do employees gather important knowledge and skills which businesses do well to keep, but loyalty is also a indicator of an enjoyable and supportive working environment. So, we’re very proud to have a number of long standing employees at Harrison Flagpoles.

This week, Jo Sandick, our Senior Sales Administrator celebrated 35 years with us! Here she is receiving some beautiful flowers.

Jo is one of a number of long-standing employees at Harrisons who have have played a pivotal role. She has contributed to much of its success over the years.

Here’s a few words from Jo on reaching this milestone and her time with Harrisons:

“When I reflect on my 35 years with Harrison Group it’s incredible to think about the changes that have happened. I joined the company straight from college and back then the group was predominantly focused on the steeplejacks trade before it diversified.

I’ve seen so much change and I remember back in the early noughties when the businesses shifted focus, growing the flagpoles business further. Then in recent years it’s been exciting to be involved in the print side as the company has moved into large outdoor branding. It’s this change and forward-thinking aspect that keeps my job exciting and challenging.

I’ve carried out several roles which has kept things fresh. From dealing with foreign exports of our products, to moving onto sales order processing where I Iooked after our major clients. Highlights for me I’d say were being involved in some of the bigger projects like the London Marathon and the winter Olympics in Vancouver – that was an exciting event and a logistics feat.

It’s fair to say this business certainly doesn’t sit still. The best thing of all is that working here is like being part of a family. The Harrison family and that feeling is irreplaceable.”

It’s people like Jo that make our company a success. So we say a huge thanks to her for her many years of dedication and loyalty.
