Lincolnshire County flag

The Lincolnshire County flag design incorporates a red cross, edged in yellow and bearing a yellow fleur-de-lys, on a background of green and blue quarters; in the jargon of blazon, ‘Quarterly Vert and Azure, on a Cross Gules fimbriated Or a Fleur-de-Lys of the last.’ The red cross is the Saint George’s Cross representing England. Yellow represents the crops grown in the county, as well as the nickname “Yellowbellies” given to people born and bred in Lincolnshire. Blue represents both the sea of the East coast and the wide skies of Lincolnshire, and green symbolises the rich lushness of fenland fields. The fleur de lys is a recognised symbol of the City of Lincoln.

Your print options

Digital printing – For the budget conscious we offer a standard digital print option. Printed onto 115gsm quality knitted polyester these flags still have the same print quality as our other printed flags.

Handsewn – For an added touch of quality, choose our handsewn flags. They are meticulously appliqued using 155gsm woven polyester by our UK based team of seamstresses. A handsewn flag is an investment so we would recommend adding anti-fray to help prolong the life of your flag.

Eco-friendly flag – For the more environmentally conscious customer, we offer an alternative to the digitally printed standard knitted polyester which is made from recycled plastic items. It has the same durability, strength and versatility of its knitted polyester equivalent but with a much lower environmental impact.

Anti-fray provides extra protection to the hem to prevent fraying and prolong the life of your flag.

What size flag should I purchase?

We’d recommend opting for a 2 yard flag if your flagpole is 6 metres tall or a 2.5 yard flag if it is 8 metres or taller. Flags are finished with a rope and toggle so are ready to fly as soon as you receive them.

Fabric Choice

Knitted polyester – This is the most common flag fabric. Your flag will be digitally printed onto 115gsm quality knitted polyester.

Handsewn – Giving an extra touch of quality to your flagpole our handsewn flags are meticulously appliqued using 155gsm woven polyester by our team of seamstresses based in the UK. A handsewn flag is an investment so we would recommend adding anti-fray to help prolong the life of your flag. It provides extra protection to the hem to prevent fraying.

Eco-Friendly Option

Eco-friendly flag – This revolutionary fabric is made from recycled plastic items such as PET bottles and industrial polyester waste. This has been melted down into chips, then spun into yarn that is knitted to form a material. It has the same durability, strength and versatility of its knitted polyester equivalent but with a much lower environmental impact. We are the first UK supplier to offer an eco-friendly option rather than the standard polyester flags made from virgin plastic.

Anti-Fray

An anti-fray netting can be added to your knitted polyester or handsewn flag. This will help prolong the life of your flag. It provides extra protection to the hem to prevent fraying. A handsewn flag is an investment so we would recommend adding anti-fray.
