St Andrew’s flag

The St Andrew’s Cross is the flag of Scotland. This flag is the perfect addition to any flagpole whether it be displayed outside of your business, home or to support your national team at a sporting event. The Saltire is one of the key components of the Union Flag. In Scotland, the Saltire can be flown at any time by any individual, company, local authority, hospital or school without obtaining express consent.
The Scottish Government has ruled that the Saltire should, where possible, fly on all its buildings every day from 8am until sunset. An exception is made for United Kingdom “national days”, when on buildings where only one flagpole is present the Saltire shall be lowered and replaced with the Union Flag. The only exception is on Saint Andrew’s Day on 30th November when the Saltire will not be lowered to make way for the Union where a single flagpole is present.

Your options
With a wide range of options we have a superior range of Home Nation flags.
For the more budget conscious we offer a screen printed option. Printed onto 115gsm quality knitted polyester these flags still have the same print quality as our other printed flags.
For an added touch of quality our handsewn flags are meticulously appliqued using 155gsm woven polyester by our team of seamstresses based in the UK. A handsewn flag is an investment so we would recommend adding anti-fray to help prolong the life of your flag. It provides extra protection to the hem to prevent fraying.

For the more environmentally conscious customer we offer an alternative to the standard digitally printed knitted polyester in the form of our eco-friendly flag material. Our eco-flag is made from recycled plastic items such as PET bottles and industrial polyester waste which has been melted down into chips, then spun into yarn that is knitted to form a material. It has the same durability, strength and versatility of its knitted polyester equivalent but with a much lower environmental impact. The flag design is digitally printed onto the flag and meets the requirements for the OEKO-TEX® 100 standards and is free from toxic elements.

If you are flying the St Andrew alongside a custom digitally printed flag we recommend that you opt for a standard digitally printed flag or our eco-flag as they will provide continuity.

All flags are supplied ready to fly with a rope and toggle. The hard-wearing flags are kept in stock for fast delivery times, and are used by hundreds of customers and businesses right across the UK.
