The specialist flag makers wanted to support local schools with their sports days to celebrate their 40th year in business.

They came up with the idea of supplying local schools with an inflatable arch. The arches, ranging in size from 3m-12m and featuring flags and banners, were part of the company’s Fit Kids initiative.

The first school to take advantage of the offer was Skerne Park Academy, where the inflatables added a touch of excitement to their annual event.

Andrew Hobson, Harrison EDS Managing Director, said: “We have supplied a huge number of international sporting events with flags and banners, such as the London Olympics, Paralympic Games and Asian Games.

“It was wonderful to be involved in those big occasions. It’s also just as great to get involved at a grassroots level, working with schools across the region.”

The company created the equipment to help schools create some excitement on their sports days. They also wanted to encourage more children to get involved in sporting activities.
